A New Jersey "ASSET"

On February 2, 2012, the first Advanced Surgical Skills for Exploration in Trauma (ASSET) course was conducted in New Jersey at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. This program uses a case-based overview that is followed by hands-on exposure to key anatomic areas of the neck, chest, abdomen/pelvis and the upper and lower extremities. A low faculty to student ratio ensures adequate instructional experience.

Emergency Department Drive-Through Ribbon Cutting

RWJ's Emergency Department, Trauma Services and Senior Leadership introduced the hospital ED's new drive-through to improve access to the department for local emergency personnel and rescue squads.

The drive-through will be complete and open by May 27. The ribbon-cutting was held on May 16 prior to RWJ's EMS Week dinner.

Amazing Saves Picnic - May 22, 2011

Ariana accidentally stepped into the path of an arrow back in July of 2010, striking her between the eye and nose and leaving her critically injured.

She was rushed to the The Level I Trauma Center at RWJUH, where she received life-saving treatment.

Now, after months of medical treatment and rehab, Ariana is back on her feet and she’s joining us to celebrate!

RWJ Level 1 Trauma Center Featured in Media Related to Bus Crash

Doctors from RWJ’s Level I Trauma Center were featured in the media following the March 14 bus crash on the New Jersey Turnpike. RWJ responded to media inquiries from print, radio and television.

UMDNJ-RWJ Physicians Vicente Gracias, MD, and Robert Eisenstein, MD, offered expert commentary following the incident.
