Carl Lawson, 51 was out riding mountain bikes with a friend when he was suddenly tossed from his bike and landed on his head.
He was rushed to a local hospital, then transferred to The Level I Trauma Center at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
Doctors operated on Carl, who had burst one of his cervical discs, leaving him paralyzed from the neck down. Because Carl’s injury was so serious, he is happy to be alive and thanks the RWJ team for that, including his doctors, all the nurses in the intensive care unit who cared for him during his long stay and of course his first responders the day of the accident.
Join Carl and his family as they salute the entire team at this family-friendly event for all!
